IISF has been organized annually for the last seven years, and the 8th edition of IISF was organized from 21st – 24th January 2023 at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoS&T), Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Department of Space (DoS), Government of India. IISF 2022 was jointly organized by the Government of Madhya Pradesh along with the said ministries on the theme “Marching towards Amrit Kaal with Science, Technology and Innovation”.
The Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt of India, was the nodal coordinating department for organizing IISF-2022. Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCOST) is the local partner, and Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) is Knowledge Partner for IISF 2022.
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Union Minister for Science & Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh today jointly inaugurated IISF 2022. Shri Om Prakash Sakhlecha, Minister for Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Prof. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor, Government of India, Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary Department of Bio-Technology, Government of India, Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary, DSIR, Dr. Sudhir Bhaduria, Secretary General, Vigyan Bharati, Dr. Sanjay Mishra, Senior Scientist, DBT, Shri Nikunj Shrivastava, Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, MP and other senior officials of Government of India and Government of Madhya Pradesh joined the inaugural Event.
Prof. KL Panigrahi, Dean (HR) and Professor, Physics Department was the Panel Member and delivered his speech on the Theory of Everything with respect to the String Theory. The Principal Investigator of NanoBio Research Lab, Dr Shivendu Ranjan, was invited to be the Jury Member during the IISF 2022. IIT Kharagpur has also represented the outcome of translational research through the stall during the IISF 2022 and the members who participated in representation were as: Prof. Kamal L Panigrahi (Professor Dept of Physics), Dr. Shivendu Ranjan (Assistant Professor, School of Nano Science and Technology), Mr. Anupam Ghosh and Mr. Nishank Verma (Research Scholar, School of Nano Science and Technology), Mr. Kosish K Pradhan (Research Scholar, Department of Chemistry), and Mr. Sarthak Pandya (Student, RGSOIPL).
