In summary, the NanoBio Research Lab (NBRL) of IIT Kharagpur is a distinguished nanotechnology, biomedical and biotechnology group driven by a passion for discovery, collaboration, and societal betterment. It remains steadfast in its mission to attract exceptional talents, creating a legacy of transformative research and innovation that benefits humanity as a whole” says the Principal Investigator, Dr. Shivendu Ranjan.

Mr. Murali Mohan Mishra (1995), coming from the small town of Bihar, completed his M.Tech in Industrial Biotechnology from Delhi Technological University, New Delhi. Prior to that, he completed his B.Tech in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamilnadu.

Earlier, he worked on developing novel therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and the regeneration of amputated limbs. His research focuses on the drug encapsulated exosomes, nano drug delivery, nano biomaterials, liposomal drug formulations and nano pharmaceutics for tissue regeneration.

He considers his admission at IIT Kharagpur as a life-evoking opportunity to develop an excellent scientific temperament, deepen his knowledge and evolve his skills. Murali will be working on drug-encapsulated liposomes under the joint supervision of Dr Shivendu Ranjan and Prof. Nishant Chakravorty from the School of Medical Science and Technology.

This is one of the most valued and prestigious opportunities that would help me improve my academic career. Various collaborations offered by NBRL with industries and academic institutions would allow me to broaden my channels for different upcoming opportunities. It is a chance to work under the supervision of highly qualified scientists and with a highly motivated team in a good dynamic environment would help me evolve my skills and knowledge” says Mr. Mishra.

Ms. Rosebin Babu (1994), originally from Kochi city in Kerala, completed her MTech in Nanomedical science at Amrita Centre for Nanoscience and Molecular Medicine (ACNMM), Kochi, Kerala. Prior in 2017 she completed her BTech in polymer engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala.

Earlier, she has developed nanotextile for vascular applications and was also involved in the fabrication of drug eluting biliary stents using nanofibrous yarns for the management of malignant biliary obstruction. Her research focuses on the nano biomaterials, smart polymeric implants, and nano formulations for various biomedical application. Before joining her PhD she has published 4 research articles in journal of international repute and have applied for a patent on nano-biomaterials.

During her doctoral research, she will be working on bioresorbable stents under the joint supervision of Dr Shivendu Ranjan and Prof Prophulla Chandra Shukla from School of Medical Science and Technology (SMST).
